Laurent Carlier is a Staff Embedded Software Engineer with many years of experience specializing in high-performance C++ development and low-level systems programming. Currently at Nokia, he serves as team lead and scrum leader, focusing on bare metal optimization.

A passionate advocate for modern C++, Laurent founded and led C++ guilds at both Nokia and Arm, mentoring teams on C++17 best practices. He's an active open-source contributor, creating EasyMock, a C/C++ mocking framework, and has presented at CppCon 2025 and FOSDEM 2022.

Beyond professional software development, Laurent designs PCBs, builds electronics projects, and develops IoT solutions. His hands-on approach to technology reflects the same performance-focused mindset that drives his embedded systems work.
